What happens
Zandvoort has the oldest New Year's dive in the Netherlands. Ok van Batenburg and swimmers from Njord '59 in Haarlem started it in 1960.
The dive is at 2 pm, at Beach Club Tien on the Boulevard Barnaart. Music starts at noon, the warm-up is at 1:45 pm, and afterwards there is pea soup.
Taking part is free; you can sign up in advance or on the day. There are no changing rooms and no showers, so come in your swimwear and bring a towel or a bathrobe.
